WHAT BUYERS ASK

The questions employers and specialists ask before they commit, answered here the way we answer them on a call.

What does DrawPoint Talent do?

DrawPoint Talent is a talent marketplace for mining and engineering. Specialists come to us for work on operations across Africa and Australia. Organisations come to us for people whose records are already checked, not a pile of CVs taken on trust. DrawPoint Talent is a division of SATalent1st (Pty) Ltd, based in Cape Town.

Where does DrawPoint place?

Into South African operations and across the African mining belt, including Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, the DRC, Mozambique, Tanzania and Ghana, and on the corridor into Australian operations.

How do I hire through DrawPoint?

Three routes to the same verified pool. Candidate Order is running today: you send the role and the site, recruiters who came off these operations work the brief, and a curated list of verified profiles comes back with the checking already done. Talent on Demand, where you search the pool yourself, and Your Own Board, where you post your roles under your own branding, are launching soon.

What does it cost?

On the South African desk the fee is published in full on the pricing page, so you can read it before you ever pick up the phone. It is one percentage of the role's annual cost to company, set by level: 9% at junior, up to 15% at site and board leadership. From the second placement it steps down five percent on every hire to your fifth. Corridor engagements into Australian operations are quoted per engagement, and retained or scarce-skill searches are quoted separately.

Who pays the fee?

The employer pays. A specialist pays nothing at any point. There is no registration charge, and nothing comes out of the package: the fee is the employer's cost, added on top, never carved out.

What is checked before a name reaches me?

Qualifications, tickets and certificates, medicals and references, each one checked against the role, the certification and the site before the name gets to you. The certificate of fitness for your own site stays yours to issue, through your occupational medical practitioner and against your own risk profile.

Who handles the visa on the Australia corridor?

The Australian employer does, through its own sponsorship programme. We are a recruitment firm and we do not provide visa or relocation services. Our part is the screening: by the time an offer is on the table, qualifications, certificates, medicals and references are verified and the candidate is relocation-ready.
